Meet Brittany.
Brittany was elected by her neighbors and friends to serve as the Clintonville Area Commissioner for District 5 in May of 2020. This election allowed her the opportunity to complete the final of a three year term vacated by her predecessor. She has since been re-elected as of May 2021 to serve a full three-year term of her own.
During her first year on the Clintonville Area Commission, Brittany held numerous “community hours” sessions and started a newsletter to share updates from CAC and the city with her neighbors. She prides herself on a 100% constituent response rate. While she may not be able to solve every problem, she will always respond and do her best to connect neighbors with resources. She was also elected by her peers to serve as the CAC secretary and has maintained accurate, up-to-date archiving of minutes from public CAC meetings.
Bio
A rural Northeast Ohio native, Brittany first moved to Clintonville in 2008 after graduating from Bowling Green State University. Brittany is a proud first generation college grad and product of Ohio’s public schools. After trying out a few different neighborhoods (including a stint in Chicago for grad school), Brittany couldn’t shake her love of Clintonville and bought her first home on Chatham Road in 2016 with her husband, Justin. They moved in with their giant cat and first daughter on the way. Four years and a second daughter later, they’re ready to commit more of their family’s time to the community.
Brittany has a background in government service and government relations, strategic communications, and public policy. She currently handles all of these things for a statewide nonprofit community development organization, and has run numerous advocacy campaigns for non-profits and small businesses. She’s fundraised for people facing homelessness in our community and currently serves as President for Ohio Women in Government, an organization dedicated to supporting women interested or working in and around government. She’s passionate about access to basic needs: fresh and healthy food, affordable housing, living wage jobs, public education, and greenspace.
